The Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. will be responsible for leading innovative projects in Menlo Park, California.
Utilize advanced data analysis techniques, including Machine Learning, to enhance detection of anomalous access and minimize false positives across various vulnerability management initiatives.
Architect, develop, and sustain extensive data pipelines to handle datasets from diverse data platforms, such as Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), NoSQL databases, and cloud-based solutions.
Drive the requirements gathering process and adhere to the firm's software development life cycle (SDLC) standards to create automated measurement metrics (data refiners) utilizing technologies like Spark or Scala.
Collaborate with internal technology and platform teams to address infrastructure challenges, ensuring that daily service level agreements (SLAs) for metric production are consistently achieved.
Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives and foster cross-divisional relationships with stakeholders to comprehend business objectives and convert them into technical specifications.
Establish a long-term vision and framework for data pipelines, repositories, and models for the team; identify necessary skill sets for team development, growth, or recruitment.
Provide technical guidance to team members as required.Qualifications:
A Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline with three (3) years of experience in the role or a similar software engineering position OR a Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with five (5) years of experience in the role or a similar software engineering position. Previous experience must encompass three (3) years with a Master's OR five (5) years with a Bachelor's degree in the following areas:
proficiency in SQL and optimization across datasets; understanding of data management principles and data storage fundamentals; experience with distributed systems, data storage, and computing in both on-premise and cloud environments (AWS); expertise in building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines, architectures, and datasets; familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Java, Spark, or Scala; knowledge of relational databases or NoSQL; application of machine learning or advanced statistical data analysis techniques; and experience with the complete software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support, along with translating business requirements into technical specifications.
Compensation:
The anticipated annual base salary for this position in Menlo Park, California, is $206,000.
Additionally, eligibility for a discretionary bonus may be available for active employees at the end of the fiscal year.
