TAP Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer who thrives in a challenging and dynamic environment. This role is pivotal in contributing to various Integrated Product Teams focused on the design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of digital, RF/analog, and mixed electronics hardware across multiple platforms and domains.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing electrical components and systems, including schematic capture and routing layout for digital, RF/analog, and mixed signal printed circuit boards.
  • Conducting engineering analyses to ensure optimal performance.
  • Fabricating, assembling, and qualifying first article engineering prototypes.
  • Developing and executing comprehensive test plans and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related technical field).
  • Active TS/SCI w/ full scope polygraph clearance.
  • A minimum of 7 years of overall engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electronics hardware design, analysis, manufacturing, and/or testing.
  • Proficiency in designing printed circuit boards, including schematic capture and routing layout using computer-aided design software (e.g., Altium).
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering (or related technical field).
  • Experience in resolving electronics hardware qualification and production failures, including debugging and performing root cause analysis on failed printed circuit boards.
  • Familiarity with printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication and common electronics assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) design and integration.
  • Ability to develop electronics test requirements, plans, and procedures at both the system and component levels.

Note: This position is contingent upon the successful completion of security processing and favorable acceptance onto the program by the Customer.


Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of a full scope polygraph.
