TAP Engineering LLC is in search of a Lead Linux Systems Engineer to enhance our team. We are looking for a driven professional who thrives in a challenging and dynamic atmosphere where your input is both crucial and appreciated.

The Lead Linux Systems Engineer will oversee and sustain the client’s computing network framework (including client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.). The ideal candidate will install, configure, and resolve software and hardware challenges within the network, ensuring network security by enforcing policies, managing permissions, and monitoring activities. This role will also provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification and diagnostic support to IT systems, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of engineering experts.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI w/ full scope polygraph
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Technology (or related technical field)
  • 10+ Years of Experience. 5 years of additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Linux-based systems and experience troubleshooting IT systems
  • Ability to perform software installations and upgrades to Windows operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Capability to configure network components and implement operating system enhancements to improve overall system reliability and performance.
  • Technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications:
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Technology (or related technical field)
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes for complex technical development efforts.
  • CompTIA Security+
  • DoD 8570 compliance
**This position is contingent upon the successful completion of security processing and favorable acceptance onto the program by the Customer.**

Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of full scope polygraph. Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government. Factors considered for a U.S. Government Security Clearance include, but are not limited to:

  • Subject Interview
