Position Overview

The Cybersecurity Team at Expeditors is dedicated to delivering top-tier services by safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data, as well as our clients' electronic information. We aim to reduce corporate risk through comprehensive analysis of threats, potential adversaries, and actions, employing a risk-based methodology that reflects a profound understanding of our infrastructure and the possible repercussions of cyber incidents. Our strategic cybersecurity initiatives not only enhance our security posture but also minimize long-term resource demands.

A Cybersecurity Operations Analyst focuses on operational security across all facets of Information Services. This role involves engaging with various technologies and disciplines, deciphering complex systems, and effectively communicating risks. The analyst plays a crucial role in monitoring and mitigating security incidents across our globally deployed endpoints.

The Cybersecurity team thrives on collaboration and communication, both within the Information Services department and throughout the organization. Providing excellent customer service remains our top priority.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and sustain our security operations tools and processes.
  • Foster security awareness throughout the global organization.
  • Assist in implementing solutions to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data.
  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot network security across all branches worldwide.
  • Respond to security incidents across multiple continents.
  • Identify, remediate, and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct risk assessments utilizing threat modeling methodologies.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend systems and procedures for data and system protection.
  • Monitor and assess systems for unauthorized access.
  • Oversee and execute the design and deployment of security infrastructure and applications.
  • Train Cybersecurity team members and promote security awareness within the organization.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools and solutions.
  • Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and security monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of Information Technology principles.
  • Passion for Cybersecurity.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Firewalls, Proxy, and VPN devices.
  • Prior experience in investigating cybersecurity incidents.
  • Stay updated on Information Technology security trends.
  • Experience with network, application, and system penetration testing techniques.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours work, including an on-call rotation.
  • Experience with security automation solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Cybersecurity Analyst, Security Operations Center (SOC), or similar role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Broad understanding of operating systems, network security, software security, and encryption technologies.
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard technologies such as IDS/IPS, VPN, DNS, DHCP, WAF, IPv4, IPSEC, RADIUS, TACACS, etc.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and practices (e.g., access control, system hardening, security policies, incident handling).
  • Ability to devise solutions for complex business challenges related to cybersecurity.
  • Capability to create and enhance cybersecurity processes.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages for task automation.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Experience in application or system penetration testing.

Additional Information

Expected base salary: $130,000 to $175,000
