Position Summary

The Pet Care Operations Supervisor will oversee daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and managerial assistance. Collaborating closely with the management team, this role is pivotal in guiding and supervising the seamless execution of all daily activities and services. Responsibilities include staff training, educating clients about our services, and adhering to operational protocols to maintain a safe environment for both pets and employees.

This is a proactive management role that necessitates hands-on involvement in various tasks, working alongside team members to deliver outstanding service and ensure the well-being of all dogs in our care. The ideal candidate will possess strong engagement skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks, and a knack for problem-solving in a dynamic, physical setting. Building a supportive team atmosphere and fostering client relationships through exceptional service is essential.

As we operate year-round, the Pet Care Operations Supervisor should be prepared to work during weekends and holidays as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage shifts, acting as the primary manager to ensure efficient daily operations of daycare, boarding, and grooming services.
  • Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and safety, communicating any issues or needs to the management team.
  • Assist in training staff, assigning tasks, supervising work, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Deliver top-tier customer service by stepping in as needed at the front desk to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Address general inquiries about services and resolve customer concerns effectively.
  • Foster customer relationships and promote daycare, boarding, grooming, and training services.
  • Organize customer check-ins and check-outs, managing payment collections.
  • Utilize software to schedule appointments, manage customer information, and update records.
  • Project a professional image to customers and staff through appropriate attire and conduct.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and marketing strategies to enhance business operations.
  • Support compliance with regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Be willing to perform various roles as necessary to ensure smooth facility operations, including dog care and cleaning duties.
  • Supervise playgroups and assist with dog care tasks as needed.
  • Assist with end-of-day cleaning duties to maintain a hygienic environment.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in dog daycare settings required.
  • At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or veterinary management is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in varying outdoor conditions.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills for calculating discounts, commissions, and other figures.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn point-of-sale software quickly.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to identify problems, analyze situations, and respond effectively to customer inquiries and complaints.

Job Type: Full Time - Must be available for 30-40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.

About Central Bark

  • Enrichment Day Care: Available Monday through Friday.
  • Stay & Play and Sleepover services: Offered 7 days a week.
  • Grooming services: Available Monday through Friday.
  • Hours of operation: 7am – 6:30 pm Monday through Friday; Boarding pick-up/drop-off by appointment only on weekends.

Compensation: $16.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
