Compensation: $17 - $22 per hour

Position Overview:

The Landscape Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the construction and upkeep of the grounds, ensuring that all tasks are executed effectively. This role involves creating landscape designs for the facility and managing the implementation and ongoing maintenance of these plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the maintenance of turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees, including tasks such as pruning, trimming, and pest management.
  • Guides and supports staff in planting new vegetation, replacing trees and shrubs, and addressing high-stress areas, particularly during peak seasons.
  • Creates comprehensive annual plans for seasonal plant rotations, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of landscaped areas and flowerbeds.
  • Stays informed about current practices in fertilizer and pesticide application, participating in their use as necessary.
  • Oversees soil preparation for planting beds, ensuring the maintenance of annual and perennial flowers in visually appealing arrangements.
  • Manages the operation of mechanical and power equipment used in the care of ornamental plants and trees.
  • Coordinates snow removal efforts when applicable.
  • Assists management in recruiting, training, and directing team members, evaluating performance, and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Supports the management of team members, including Landscapers and other Supervisors.
  • Ensures effective orientation and training for new hires and contributes to the development of ongoing training initiatives.
  • Monitors business volume forecasts to plan for manpower, productivity, and expenses effectively.
  • Incorporates safety practices into all job functions.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree (AA) or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and Pesticide Application License.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English may be necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
