Overview of Process Engineering at Hispanic Technology Executive Council

Process Engineering plays a crucial role in conducting research and evaluations to devise design alternatives for components, products, systems, and workflows.

This department is tasked with scrutinizing and assessing both supplier and internal processes to evaluate their capabilities. The focus is on identifying and implementing enhancements to processes, as well as supporting the selection and assessment of suppliers. Coordination with external resources and contractors is managed as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute process enhancements aimed at boosting efficiency, lowering costs, and elevating product quality. Employ methodologies such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Deliver comprehensive troubleshooting assistance for manufacturing machinery, including PLCs, vision systems, robotics, and sensors. Promptly identify and rectify process and equipment challenges.
  • Perform in-depth root cause analyses to uncover the fundamental reasons behind process and equipment malfunctions. Enact corrective and preventive measures to avert future occurrences.
  • Utilize OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to track and enhance manufacturing performance.
  • Offer technical assistance to production teams, ensuring seamless and efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to refine process efficiency, product quality, and overall manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and research and development, to ensure the successful implementation of process enhancements and troubleshooting solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OEE and SCADA systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
