About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to support our Hokusai exhibition. As a Guest Services Officer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, protecting the art and property, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to visitors, responding to their queries and concerns in a polite and courteous manner.
- Protect the art and property by observing visitors and reporting any incidents or suspicious behavior to a supervisor.
- Follow post procedures, including inspecting and counting items in the assigned gallery, completing incident reports, and visually sweeping the assigned post.
- Evacuate visitors and employees from the museum in case of emergencies.
- Handle multiple situations efficiently and professionally, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated reading and writing proficiency in English.
- Solid job history, excellent attendance, and reliability.
- Ability to explain guidelines and answer questions in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding museum security.
- Ability to stand and remain alert for extended periods, with good sight and hearing acuity, and ability to climb stairs.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance and uniform standards.
The officer is required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, and smell. The officer must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
