About the Job

Vets Hired is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to join our Commercial Sales organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for prospecting, selling, and closing customer opportunities for product and services within an assigned geographic territory.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a sales pipeline and drive top-line revenue growth
  • Initiate and respond to sales inquiries from prospective and existing customers to promote product offerings and services
  • Develop an effective sales strategy within assigned territory to pursue and activate markets using analytical tools
  • Generate and pursue leads in assigned territory to grow an accurate sales pipeline
  • Build strong relationships with customers through introductory and follow-up phone calls, emails, and onsite visits
  • Offer products and services to potential or existing customers by demonstrating value and benefits
  • Become an expert in products, benefits, market knowledge, and competitive information
  • Understand and present product offerings to prospective customers at a high level
  • Create strong executive relationships with clients and prospective clients, especially at the C-level
  • Negotiate and close sales contracts in agreement with company commercial guidelines
  • Close forecasted and upside business opportunities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Coordinate the process for responding and presenting RFP proposals with assigned company resources
  • Report interesting market information to Marketing and Sales leadership
  • Maintain HIPAA privacy and security standards as defined
  • Protect and maintain all Intellectual Property, including processes, products, services, and future corporate direction
  • Maintain security by ensuring compliance to policies, procedures, and standards
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience selling within acute care hospitals or other complex healthcare organizations
  • Proven track record of quota attainment
  • High proficiency in understanding, communicating, and demonstrating the value of solutions being offered
  • High level of expertise in consultative selling practices
  • Ability to become a trusted advisor
  • Experience in effective contract negotiations
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Experience and proficiency in all Microsoft Office 365 software products
  • Skills of a collaborative communicator, both externally and internally
  • Self-motivated, driven sales leader able to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to protect price points and sell value during each client engagement
  • Residency within or adjacent to the assigned territory to easily manage client opportunities
  • Bachelor's degree or greater from an accredited university or college
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Generally, a home office environment, with occasional travel to client sites
  • Travel is typically 60-70% and is based upon understanding and meeting the needs of each client and prospective client
  • Significant air, car, and train travel are involved, and the ability to attend onsite client meetings is required
