Job Overview

The CNC Operations Supervisor at J C FORD COMPANY is responsible for guiding the team in the production of precision components through the programming, setup, and operation of CNC machinery. This role emphasizes the importance of maintaining quality and safety standards while ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and inventory.

Key Responsibilities


• **Machining Leadership:** Oversee machining operations by analyzing work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure accuracy.


• **Inventory Management:** Supervise stock levels by assessing current inventory, predicting future needs, and managing orders to ensure timely availability of materials.


• **Programming Expertise:** Direct the programming of mills and lathes by inputting necessary instructions, setting tool registers, and calculating requirements using basic math and geometry.


• **Setup and Calibration:** Ensure proper setup of machinery by installing and adjusting various components, including chucks and tools, while verifying alignment and calibration.


• **Quality Assurance:** Confirm settings and specifications by measuring initial parts and samples, adhering to international quality standards.


• **Operational Safety:** Uphold safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment for all team members.


• **Equipment Maintenance:** Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs as necessary.


• **Shift Coordination:** Facilitate communication between shifts by documenting and sharing relevant information regarding operations and needs.


• **Record Keeping:** Maintain accurate production and quality logs to document actions and outcomes.


• **Continuous Learning:** Enhance job knowledge through participation in training and by reviewing technical literature.

Qualifications


• **Technical Proficiency:** Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming is essential.


• **CNC Experience:** Proven experience in setting up and troubleshooting CNC machinery.


• **Mathematical Skills:** Competence in basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.


• **Mechanical Aptitude:** Strong mechanical and technical skills are required.


• **Educational Background:** A GED or High School Diploma is mandatory.


• **Computer Literacy:** Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and relevant manufacturing systems is necessary.


• **Team Collaboration:** Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.


• **Communication Skills:** Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
