Position Summary: The role of the Instructional Support Specialist is designed to provide assistance to the educational program within designated learning environments. This position is primarily responsible for aiding in the supervision and teaching of students, monitoring and documenting their progress, executing instructional plans, and supporting students in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support educators in various educational environments; supervise, monitor, or lead classes during teachers' temporary absences; assist in organizing and facilitating diverse class activities and projects; collaborate with students during instructional activities; prepare teaching materials for classroom utilization; duplicate resources for educators; set up and assist with educational technology; aid in test administration; assist in assessing student performance and skill levels.
  • Design and create bulletin boards, displays, or classroom decorations; participate in cleanup activities.
  • Provide individualized tutoring or support to students in fundamental educational skills; assist students with language arts, mathematics, science, and other subjects; implement instructional programs; contribute to lesson plan development.
  • Supervise students in common areas such as cafeterias, auditoriums, hallways, and bus zones; organize student groups during arrival and departure; ensure appropriate seating arrangements; assist in maintaining cleanliness in shared spaces; accompany students on field trips during regular school hours.
  • Observe and monitor student behavior and activities.
  • Adhere to established protocols to ensure student safety; perform clerical duties to support educational activities, administrative operations, and other school functions.
  • Engage in communication with supervisors, colleagues, other departments, school officials, students, parents, vendors, and the public to coordinate work activities, discuss work status, share information, or resolve issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent conferences, IEP-Team meetings, or other required gatherings; follow established safety procedures in assigned areas.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors, administrators, colleagues, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Uphold confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
