Position Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for supervising and directing shipping department personnel activities. They ensure proper flow of material through the facility and maintain communication with all departments to ensure on-time delivery of customer releases.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff
  • Review computer ship lists daily for orders required to ship and monitor daily shipments and delivery performance
  • Dispatch loads of carrier as workload requires
  • Maintain communication with Sales, Customer Service Departments, and Customers regarding orders and delivery dates
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant government and company regulations
  • Participate in APQP meetings to communicate new products or process changes to assigned departments
  • Freight invoices sign off and adjust price variances in the system as required
  • Monitor EDI/ASN transmissions for accuracy and resolve any issues found
  • Communicate with customers on inventory of pins and pallets required to accommodate their requirements
  • Communicate with all departments concerning the daily shipping schedule
  • Participate in establishing a 5-day production plan for all in-house processes using the ERP system
  • Participate in Daily Scheduling meetings to update all departments on the status of customer orders
  • Ensure the shipping department adheres to the FIFO procedure with regards to in-house inventory and shipment schedules
  • Provide Operations Manager with month-end reports in a timely manner
  • Participate in Corrective Action meetings as required and take the lead in implementing corrective actions related to Shipping department activities
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities for assigned departments and plant-wide
  • Perform quarterly inventory counts and year-end physical inventory

General:

  • Comply with designated IATF16949 responsibilities, environmental management system, health and safety, and company rules and guidelines
  • Ensure company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel and visitors
  • Maintain a high standard of general housekeeping consistent with 5S standards
  • Strive for continuous improvement

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, plus a minimum of 5+ years of job-related experience in a supervisory role
