Client Service Associate

OVERVIEW
Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplify a vibrant, top-tier service and sales environment within the branch and the credit union.
- Guide, nurture, and develop front-line personnel.
- Maintain a robust sales ethos throughout the credit union.
- Support the Branch Manager and Senior Management in daily operations.
Essential Qualifications: Enthusiastic and passionate; possess exceptional service and leadership capabilities; comprehensive knowledge of FirstCCU offerings; proficient in lending and underwriting processes.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Embody the First Community Credit Union Mission, Vision, and Values within the organization and the community.
- Provide direction to teller staff to enhance their performance, foster their growth, and meet the credit union's objectives.
- Assist in branch services and operations as necessary to support our members, including serving as teller backup when required.
- Instill a dynamic, world-class service and sales culture that continuously seeks to enhance member service.
- Establish strong connections with both new and existing members, leading to sales, cross-sales, and referrals. Identify member needs and align offerings that help achieve their financial aspirations and those of the credit union.
- Engage in proactive outreach to promote a sales culture within the credit union. Mentor and inspire front-line staff.
- Support the Branch Manager or Senior Management in daily operations.
- Adhere to established FirstCCU lending policies and underwriting standards.
- Facilitate the opening of new accounts, including share draft accounts, certificates, individual retirement accounts, and various club accounts.
- Advise members on loan issues; modifications in payment terms; repayment schedules, and collateral release.
- Consult with members regarding purpose, amount, and payment conditions.
- Process loan applications and make recommendations to Senior Lending staff regarding the outcome of other loan applications.
- Obtain credit ratings as necessary.
- Finalize and process loan requests, gather information on collateral, and ensure signatures and witnesses on documents are secured and verified.
- Update member record files, including credit ratings, and verify the accuracy of loan screens and documents.
- Review collateral insurance records on loans and request insurance coverage from members.
- Notify vendors to establish the credit union's security interest on titled documents and request discharge of security interest from holders as required.
- Disburse checks for approved loans.
- Document information in member files regarding approved or denied loan applications, extension agreements, release of security, and deferred payments.
- Respond to telephone inquiries regarding loan information and the credit union's products and services.
- Comply with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist in promoting a positive image of the credit union during non-working hours.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary to meet the credit union's goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Enthusiastic and passionate.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including planning, organization, communication, mentoring, coaching, staff development, and goal setting.
- Exceptional service skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of credit union products, services, and loan policies and procedures.
- Strong sales and sales coaching abilities.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to credit union operations management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
- Availability to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
- Willingness to attend special off-site sales events and credit union functions as required.
- Outgoing personality, capable of soliciting new business and making outbound calls.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others and follow instructions.
- Able to work independently.
- Detail-oriented.
- Willingness to make underwriting decisions.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma is required for this position. This role also requires obtaining a notary certification.
Employees must adhere to government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and The USA Patriot Act.
