OVERVIEW

Key Responsibilities:

  2. Guide, nurture, and develop front-line personnel.
  3. Maintain a robust sales ethos throughout the credit union.
  4. Support the Branch Manager and Senior Management in daily operations.

Essential Qualifications: Enthusiastic and passionate; possess exceptional service and leadership capabilities; comprehensive knowledge of FirstCCU offerings; proficient in lending and underwriting processes.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Embody the First Community Credit Union Mission, Vision, and Values within the organization and the community.
  2. Provide direction to teller staff to enhance their performance, foster their growth, and meet the credit union's objectives.
  3. Assist in branch services and operations as necessary to support our members, including serving as teller backup when required.
  4. Instill a dynamic, world-class service and sales culture that continuously seeks to enhance member service.
  5. Establish strong connections with both new and existing members, leading to sales, cross-sales, and referrals. Identify member needs and align offerings that help achieve their financial aspirations and those of the credit union.
  6. Engage in proactive outreach to promote a sales culture within the credit union. Mentor and inspire front-line staff.
  7. Support the Branch Manager or Senior Management in daily operations.
  8. Adhere to established FirstCCU lending policies and underwriting standards.
  9. Facilitate the opening of new accounts, including share draft accounts, certificates, individual retirement accounts, and various club accounts.
  10. Advise members on loan issues; modifications in payment terms; repayment schedules, and collateral release.
  11. Consult with members regarding purpose, amount, and payment conditions.
  12. Process loan applications and make recommendations to Senior Lending staff regarding the outcome of other loan applications.
  13. Obtain credit ratings as necessary.
  14. Finalize and process loan requests, gather information on collateral, and ensure signatures and witnesses on documents are secured and verified.
  15. Update member record files, including credit ratings, and verify the accuracy of loan screens and documents.
  16. Review collateral insurance records on loans and request insurance coverage from members.
  17. Notify vendors to establish the credit union's security interest on titled documents and request discharge of security interest from holders as required.
  18. Disburse checks for approved loans.
  19. Document information in member files regarding approved or denied loan applications, extension agreements, release of security, and deferred payments.
  20. Respond to telephone inquiries regarding loan information and the credit union's products and services.
  21. Comply with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  22. Assist in promoting a positive image of the credit union during non-working hours.
  23. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary to meet the credit union's goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Enthusiastic and passionate.
  2. Strong leadership capabilities, including planning, organization, communication, mentoring, coaching, staff development, and goal setting.
  3. Exceptional service skills.
  4. Intermediate knowledge of credit union products, services, and loan policies and procedures.
  5. Strong sales and sales coaching abilities.
  6. Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to credit union operations management.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  8. Intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
  9. Availability to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
  10. Willingness to attend special off-site sales events and credit union functions as required.
  11. Outgoing personality, capable of soliciting new business and making outbound calls.
  12. Ability to collaborate effectively with others and follow instructions.
  13. Able to work independently.
  14. Detail-oriented.
  15. Willingness to make underwriting decisions.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma is required for this position. This role also requires obtaining a notary certification.

Employees must adhere to government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and The USA Patriot Act.
