Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the banquet and set-up areas.
  • Manage staff training and supervision through an ongoing development program.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels by implementing effective hiring and interviewing practices.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Conference Services and Catering to meet client specifications.
  • Handle payroll processing and maintain accurate time records for associates.
  • Schedule staff according to business volume and guest requirements while adhering to budget guidelines.
  • Maintain the presentation of banquet spaces in accordance with resort standards and client requests.
  • Ensure that service quality and timeliness are upheld during all banquet and coffee break functions.
  • Regularly inspect banquet areas for cleanliness, temperature control, lighting, and overall aesthetics.
  • Complete necessary reports related to banquet bar consumption.
  • Facilitate client billing processes and obtain approvals for additional services.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding event statuses.
  • Manage gratuity distribution and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary supplies.
  • Conduct quarterly inventory assessments of linens, props, and equipment.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of departmental roles and responsibilities.
  • Supervise overall departmental activities and conduct monthly food inventory for banquets.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma; college degree and/or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the banquet sector.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid Driver's License.
