The Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the banquet and setup areas, ensuring that all events are executed flawlessly.
- Manage the daily functions of the Banquet and Setup department.
- Train and oversee department staff through a continuous training program.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels through effective hiring and interviewing practices.
- Serve as the main point of contact between Conference Services and Catering to meet client expectations.
- Process payroll and manage time information for associates.
- Schedule staff according to business volume and guest requirements while adhering to budget guidelines.
- Ensure all banquet and conference spaces meet resort standards and client specifications.
- Maintain the presentation of themes and holiday concepts for events.
- Uphold service and quality standards during all banquet functions.
- Regularly inspect banquet areas for cleanliness, temperature control, lighting, and overall appearance.
- Conduct banquet bar consumption reports as needed.
- Manage client billing processes and secure approvals for additional services.
- Communicate event statuses to kitchen staff promptly.
- Oversee gratuity distribution and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary supplies.
- Conduct quarterly inventory checks of linens, props, and supplies.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of departmental roles and responsibilities.
- Supervise overall departmental activities and perform monthly food inventory.
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; college degree and/or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role within Banquets.
- Proficiency in POS systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid Driver's License.
This position requires standing, walking, and the ability to lift and move items up to 100 pounds. The work environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. The Banquet Manager will work in a dynamic, high-traffic environment and must be able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
