Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse II (RN) for our Ambulatory Surgery Center. This role is ideal for an experienced Operating Room RN looking to broaden their exposure to a diverse range of surgical services.

Unit Profile:
The Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center is a modern facility equipped with four operating rooms, four procedure rooms, and an overnight unit for extended post-procedure care. Our center has received accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), which highlights our commitment to maintaining high standards of care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional nursing care while fostering a patient-centered environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing and overseeing comprehensive nursing care for patients.
  • Utilizing the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
  • Participating in educational activities, departmental committees, and research projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as accrediting bodies.

Qualifications:
Education: Must have graduated from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing will be required to enroll in a BSN program within two years of their start date.

Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in an Operating Room setting is required. Experience in ophthalmic or orthopedic procedures is highly preferred.

Licensure: Candidates must possess a current or compact RN license in the State of North Carolina and hold AHA BLS certification.
