Operating Room Surgical Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at North Carolina Specialty Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and Setup: Prepare and maintain the operating room and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary supplies and instruments are available.
- Scrub Role: Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field and adhering to aseptic technique.
- Equipment and Supply Management: Operate and maintain equipment, and manage supplies to ensure that they are available and in good working order.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure that procedures run smoothly and efficiently.
- Quality and Safety: Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that patient care is safe and effective.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Completion of an accredited school of surgical technology or equivalent clinical surgery training/experience. One to three years of previous surgery experience in at least two specialty areas preferred.
- Certifications and Licenses: BLS certification through an accredited AHA or ARC program; Certified Surgical Technician preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Effective communication skills, both orally and written. Computer skills needed. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills.
