About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to aseptic technique.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies, ordering and restocking as needed.
  • Collaborate with the circulating RN to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  • Participate in unit-based education activities and contribute to the development of level one & two technologists.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or completion of a Surgical Technology Program, with surgical technologist certification.
  • Two years of Surgical Technology experience, with advanced knowledge in a desired specialty strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-pounds and push/pull heavy loaded carts up to 200 lbs.
  • Capable of prolonged periods of standing and walking, with ability to wear lead for extended periods.
