About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgical team in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and readily available for use.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and equipment, ordering and restocking as needed.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure accurate and efficient patient care, including preparing patients for surgery and assisting with post-operative care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of previous scrub experience or completion of a Surgical Technology Program.
  • Surgical technologist certification or completion of a summer surgical tech extern program.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push/pull heavy loaded carts up to 200 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of Surgical Technology experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in a desired specialty.
