Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting auditory screenings for newborns, typically within the hospital environment, while also providing essential education to parents regarding the significance of these screenings through various multimedia resources. You will manage patient information and ensure the accuracy of hearing screen validations as required. Additional tasks may include assisting with the scheduling of outpatient appointments, addressing equipment concerns, and mentoring new team members.

  • Conducting auditory screenings for newborns
  • Confirming insurance details with parents or guardians
  • Accurately recording hearing screening outcomes
  • Adhering to billing submission protocols
  • Ensuring security and identification protocols for infants are followed
  • Maintaining infection control and safety standards as per hospital and company policies
  • Identifying potential issues and seeking assistance promptly when necessary
  • Completing required orientation and training, including patient privacy education
  • Meeting and maintaining health requirements for employees
  • Performing other assigned duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Preferred experience working with infants
  • Background in a healthcare setting is advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in computer use and accurate data entry
  • Capability to prioritize daily responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Willingness to work weekends and national holidays
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Capacity to stand and walk for the majority of the shift (approximately 95%)
  • Ability to push/pull weights up to 100 pounds regularly

Minimum Qualification/Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Experience Years: One to three months of relevant experience.

Experience Industry: Healthcare.
