Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant to join our team at United Surgical Partners International Inc (USPI). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert breastfeeding support and guidance to new mothers and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate breastfeeding support plans to help mothers achieve their individual goals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop feeding plans for normal newborns, preterm infants, and complex feeding conditions.
  • Utilize current lactation theories and research to develop evidence-based feeding plans that address individual feeding issues and goals.
  • Develop and revise charting systems for documentation, teaching, and progress notes.
  • Assist with the development of future lactation department services, including telephone support, outpatient clinics, and employee lactation programs.
  • Maintain statistics to assess the effectiveness of IBCLC services.
Requirements
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or included in education plan.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Women's Services.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Lactation Services.
  • NRP.
  • BLS.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable Joint Commission rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to make independent sound nursing decisions.
  • Demonstrates competence in customer/patient focus and adaptability.
