Position: Healthcare Admissions Specialist
Location: Frisco, TX
Compensation: $17 - $20 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Role Overview: This position entails providing a variety of entry-level intake and administrative functions related to patients being admitted to the healthcare facility or receiving outpatient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately gather and verify patient demographics and insurance details to facilitate registration, including insurance benefit verification and negotiation of patient financial responsibilities.
- Confirm patient eligibility for insurance coverage and assess appropriate benefit levels for expected services. Calculate and collect all patient liabilities in accordance with financial clearance policies.
- Determine patient liabilities and inform patients of deposit requirements as per established policies.
- Negotiate payment plans with patients when necessary, adhering to policy guidelines.
- Demonstrate a high level of empathy and effective communication skills with patients and their families during challenging situations, while providing exceptional customer service.
- Maintain professionalism in a demanding and emotional environment, which may include interactions with patients in critical conditions.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Proof of flu vaccination is mandatory for this position.
- The facility maintains a tobacco-free policy; candidates must be non-smokers.
- Proficient in navigating various computer applications and interfaces.
- Familiarity with patient registration processes and documentation.
- Understanding of medical insurance claims procedures and related documentation.
- Experience with HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
