Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Program Leader to join our team at Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a classroom of students, providing academic mentoring and homework assistance, and delivering enrichment classes and clubs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a classroom of approximately 10-20 students per staff member.
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans for enrichment classes and clubs.
  • Conduct life skills and team-building activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and BGCP leadership.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain a positive and safe work environment.
  • Support special events and field trips.
  • Attend professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Commitment to BGCP's mission and vision.
  • Experience working with diverse youth communities and constituents.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred one year of experience working with TK-8 youth.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in one of our East Palo Alto or Menlo Park sites, with a typical work schedule of 24-29 hours per week, five days a week, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary by site, with a starting time of 2:00pm to 6:30pm, and occasional earlier start times for TK/K programs.

Benefits
  • Employment Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt.
  • Pay Range: $22-25/hr, depending on experience (DOE).
