Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Welcome Center Associate at the Saugus YMCA. As a key member of our front-line staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members and guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience for all who visit our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets members, staff, and volunteers with a smile and a friendly demeanor.
  • Learns member names and uses them frequently to build rapport and relationships.
  • Conveys basic knowledge of all program areas to members and participants, and refers them to Y program staff or staff members as needed.
  • Informs and involves members in other Y activities and volunteer opportunities.
  • Connects members to other members with similar interests and needs to create a sense of community.
  • Offers financial assistance in response to every program and membership inquiry.
  • Maintains a balanced cash till and completes shift closeouts.
  • Monitors facility use for members and authorized individuals, ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all member, employee, and volunteer information and files.
Requirements
  • Must have superior interpersonal and communication skills, with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Basic math and personal computer skills, with experience using standard business software.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Ability to build genuine relationships with participants and maintain a welcoming environment for people from all walks of life.
  • Ability to work autonomously within the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
