Bristol Bay Native Corporation is seeking an Ocean Energy Policy Analyst to contribute to our efforts in understanding the implications of climate change on regulated activities within the Ocean Continental Shelf (OCS).

The successful candidate will engage in comprehensive literature reviews and formulate policy recommendations to support the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). This role is crucial for informed decision-making regarding offshore wind, oil and gas, marine minerals, and carbon sequestration initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough literature and data reviews, ensuring the use of current and scientifically sound information.
  • Identify and assess habitats and species of concern in the OCS region.
  • Synthesize information on climate change impacts, focusing on habitat and species of concern.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for future management practices addressing climate change.
  • Create educational resources and outreach materials for both experts and the general public to communicate findings from literature reviews.
  • Develop a comprehensive annotated bibliography.
  • Present research findings and participate in webinars as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) are preferred.
  • Familiarity with ocean energy policy, regulatory frameworks, NEPA, and the Coastal Zone Management Act is essential.
