Welder Operator for Stainless Steel Processing

Position Summary
The Entry-Level Welder Operator for Annealing and Pickling is a hands-on position focused on operating machinery that aids in the finishing process of stainless steel coils. This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, as well as lift weights up to 50 pounds within the production environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Review the production schedule to confirm the correct coil is prepared for processing
- Feed coils into the shear, remove leader strips, and cut scrap to the appropriate gauge, then feed the coil head to the welder
- Execute the welding of the coil to the tail of the preceding coil
- This task must be performed efficiently to maintain the operational speed of the furnace
- Inspect all incoming coils at the head, middle, and tail, documenting findings in the AS400 system
- Communicate the exit coil number in operation and monitor for any incoming defects
- Oversee coils in line for alignment and defects, making corrections as necessary
- Adhere to all safety protocols
- Carry out housekeeping and maintenance tasks as assigned
- Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading and speaking English
- Ability to pass a drug screening, physical examination, and background verification
- Capability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours daily
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Good vision, with or without corrective lenses
- Willingness to work rotating shifts
Education and Experience
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
