Position Summary

The role of the Crane Operator is a hands-on position requiring the operation of an overhead crane to lift, transport, position, and reposition loads while maneuvering the crane using hand controls. The operator must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, up to 12 hours daily, and occasionally lifting loads weighing up to 25 pounds within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various overhead cranes to transport products, including coils
  • Conduct inspections of cranes to ensure safety and optimal functionality, along with routine maintenance
  • Organize and prioritize production line needs
  • Utilize all below-the-hook lifting devices, such as additional hooks for enhanced lifting and transport of specific products
  • Operate non-assigned cranes as necessary to cover operational gaps
  • Maintain a working knowledge of provided Work Instructions and Job Safety Analyses (J.S.A's)
  • Utilize computer systems for ongoing training, record maintenance, and incident reporting
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading and speaking the English language
  • Ability to pass a drug screening, physical examination, and background investigation
  • Capability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours daily
  • Able to lift weights up to 25 pounds

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
