Clinical Nurse Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Nurse Manager is accountable for managing both the administrative and operational functions of designated departments. This includes overseeing financial management, human resources, operational workflows, quality of care, patient and staff satisfaction, and change management initiatives.
As a vital member of the management team and the Shared Governance Model, this role is committed to promoting the organization's mission, vision, and values, alongside Nursing Professional Practice. The position emphasizes a patient-centered approach while advocating for family-inclusive services throughout the care continuum, aiming for results that deliver value.
This role also focuses on identifying talent, planning for succession, and fostering the development of future nursing leaders through education, support, and resource allocation.
May involve assisting in staffing to ensure comprehensive clinical care for patients across various age groups.
KEY DUTIES:
1. Directly manages daily operations that influence patient care and service delivery.
2. Ensures a safe working environment and promotes a culture of excellence in customer service.
3. Oversees the quality of patient care and outcomes, leading initiatives for quality improvement and process enhancement to boost departmental and hospital performance metrics.
- Supervises strategic planning and expansion efforts for assigned departments.
5. Manages financial responsibilities, collaborating with leadership to formulate and oversee annual budgets and objectives, ensuring revenue alignment through thorough reconciliation.
6. Guides and mentors Human Resources to maximize efficiency and productivity.
7. Monitors Patient/Physician/Staff Satisfaction metrics.
8. Collects and analyzes data to drive performance improvements and implement change initiatives.
9. Maintains preparedness for regulatory audits.
10. Keeps clinical and technical skills current, potentially engaging in direct patient care.
11. Provides leadership to staff, encouraging collaborative decision-making and fostering engagement at all levels to meet departmental goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Completion of an accredited nursing program.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a hospital (inpatient) or clinical (outpatient) setting, including at least one (1) year in a leadership capacity. Demonstrated clinical expertise in the relevant specialty area.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:
Must possess an active Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Advanced certification in the specialty area (if applicable).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
