Job Summary

CAMBA is seeking a highly motivated and culturally competent Bilingual Resettlement Coordinator to join our Workforce Development and Refugee Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive case management services to refugees and immigrants, including intake and assessment, referral and enrollment, and education and employment planning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by refugees and immigrants, as well as experience working with diverse populations. They will be able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners, and will be able to navigate complex systems and bureaucracies to secure resources and services for clients.

The Bilingual Resettlement Coordinator will work collaboratively with a team of instructors and job developers to provide comprehensive services to clients, including education and employment planning, job placement, and retention. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records of client progress and services provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial intake and assessment of clients and/or clients' families' situations and needs
  • Refer and enroll clients to the program/programs according to the outcome of the intake process
  • Advise clients regarding realistic career/employment goals and the education/training necessary to attain them
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete narrative documentation of client progress
  • Develop strategies with clients regarding how to break through barriers to their short and long-term goals
  • Work collaboratively with a team of instructors and job developers to provide comprehensive services to clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A., B.S.W.) and one (1) year of experience in client services required
  • Familiarity with NYC public benefits eligibility and access
  • Client focused, culturally competent, empathetic, and flexible to the needs of clients and job seekers
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, and deadline-driven environment
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong documentation skills and a commitment to upholding confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability and dedication to work with refugees, asylees, immigrants, young adults, and low-income populations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Bilingual required in Creole, Ukrainian, Farsi/Dari, Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic, or Mandarin (prioritized according to current program needs)
