POSITION TITLE:
Community Inclusion Support Specialist

OVERVIEW:
The Community Inclusion Support Specialist plays a vital role in delivering training, travel guidance, and essential support services to individuals with disabilities, fostering their inclusion and active participation in the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To excel in this role, the individual must effectively carry out each critical duty. The qualifications listed below reflect the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required.   • Assists participants in engaging successfully in programs both at Goodwill locations and within the broader community.
  • Implements Positive Behavior Support strategies for program participants.
  • Identifies and addresses behavioral and/or performance challenges.
  • Maintains accurate records of behavior and performance data in the designated database.
  • Alerts management if a participant is unresponsive to established intervention strategies.
  • Engages in person-centered planning for participants, promoting choice and collaborative decision-making whenever possible.
  • Contributes to Individual Service Plans and Individual Training Plans, providing documentation input as appropriate.
  • Aids participants with Activities of Daily Living.
  • Provides training on public transportation and community safety as required.
  • Co-facilitates group activities and skill development sessions.
  • Orients participants to tasks to enhance engagement and productivity.
  • Monitors and accurately records attendance.
  • Participates in weekly team meetings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), along with a minimum of one year of relevant work experience or education.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities and diverse populations is preferred.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening and testing may be required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and instructional materials.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office applications and willingness to learn new software as needed.
  • Must pass CORI/SORI and fingerprinting checks in accordance with agency policies and DMR requirements.
  • A valid driver's license is strongly preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently needs to sit and use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls. The employee must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to adjust focus, and the ability to distinguish basic colors.
