Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates direct instruction to students individually, in small groups, and within classroom settings.
- Assists with various classroom activities.
- Prepares educational materials for instructional purposes.
- Manages student behavior both individually and collectively.
- Supervises students during field trips and related activities.
- Performs additional support services and related tasks as directed by the Building Principal.
Examples of Educational Settings:
Support services and educational environments may include life skills programs, developmental classrooms, social, emotional, and behavioral support (SEBS), LINKS (Autism) program, visual or mobility orientation, language learning delays, and medical assistance. Additional responsibilities may be required to ensure student success. It is essential to review the Collective Bargaining Agreement to fully understand the conditions of employment as an Educational Support Specialist.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong public speaking abilities;
A sense of humility in the face of success;
A drive to enhance the educational experience and lives of students both inside and outside the classroom;
A high school diploma or GED; and
Completion of sixty (60) credit hours of college coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on one of the following standardized assessments: ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants; and
Current authorization to work in the United States is required by the first day of employment.
