Key Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will perform essential functions in various authorized settings, including clinics, hospitals, and patient homes:

  • Gathering comprehensive patient histories
  • Conducting thorough physical assessments
  • Ordering and executing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Formulating diagnostic impressions
  • Creating and implementing treatment plans
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
  • Providing counseling and education tailored to patient needs
  • Making appropriate referrals
  • Prescribing and dispensing medications in compliance with state laws and departmental policies
  • Assisting in surgical procedures
  • Performing minor and surgical procedures
  • Demonstrating the ability to assess and interpret patient data relative to age-specific needs
  • Contributing to departmental process improvements and policy development
  • Participating in committee assignments as required

During the selection process, candidates may engage in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview at their convenience, allowing for thoughtful responses to questions presented on-screen.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: Must be a master's-prepared graduate from an accredited nursing and Nurse Practitioner program, holding a current RN and APRN license along with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP).

Physician Assistant: Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current certification from the NCCPA and registration as a PA.

Additional Requirements: BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and DEA registration are mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and tenure, alongside internal equity considerations.

Benefits are available for eligible employees.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a commitment of 80 hours per pay period, covering two service lines 24/7 (Liver Transplant & Kidney/Pancreas Transplant). On-call responsibilities are shared among a group of six Advanced Practice Providers, with elective services covered during weekdays.

Weekend Responsibilities

Weekend and night shifts are included in the on-call coverage.
