Key Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider will undertake the following duties in various authorized environments (including clinics and hospitals):

  • Collecting comprehensive patient histories
  • Conducting thorough physical assessments
  • Ordering and executing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Formulating diagnostic conclusions
  • Creating and implementing effective treatment strategies
  • Evaluating the success of therapeutic interventions
  • Providing education and counseling tailored to patient needs
  • Making suitable referrals
  • Prescribing and managing medications in compliance with state regulations
  • Performing minor and surgical procedures
  • Demonstrating the ability to assess and interpret patient data relevant to their age-specific requirements.
  • Contributing to departmental process enhancements and policy formulation
  • Participating in other departmental or institutional committees as required
Qualifications

We are currently seeking candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

For Physician Assistants:
Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program is essential. NCCPA certification is mandatory. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure as a PA in Florida.

For Nurse Practitioners:
A Master's degree in Nursing is required.

(If licensed prior to 1998, a Master's degree is not a requirement in Florida.) Candidates must possess a current Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license or be eligible to obtain one.

Certification by the ANCC or AANP in a specialty area is required.

Additional Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong computer proficiency.

Candidates must be adaptable and willing to manage extended hours and on-call duties as necessary.

Licensure or Certification:
Must hold a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license valid in Florida. BLS certification is required (from the American Heart Association or Red Cross). Nurse Practitioners must have ANCC or AANP certification, while Physician Assistants must have NCCPA certification.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and tenure, considering internal equity when extending job offers.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, with no night shifts, on-call duties, or weekend work required.
