The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in the healthcare system, utilizing advanced assessment skills, diagnostic capabilities, and critical thinking to manage health and illness. The APP is responsible for independent decision-making and collaborative management of pediatric patients, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized healthcare services to pediatric patients through thorough assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management of care. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and facilitate referrals.
- Serve as a consultant and educator, providing resources and support to colleagues across various disciplines.
- Implement family-centered, evidence-based care while ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of healthcare delivery, ensuring effective communication with community providers to support continuity of care.
- Engage in research and practice evaluation, applying findings to enhance evidence-based practices.
- Uphold the rights of pediatric patients and their families, adhering to ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with legal guidelines.
- Advocate for children's welfare, collaborating with families and relevant agencies in cases of abuse or neglect.
- Take responsibility for professional development and contribute to Nursing Shared Governance within the Professional Practice Model.
- Act as a Clinical Research Nurse, managing all aspects of research protocols.
- Must be Board Eligible/Board Certified with appropriate Licensure/Temporary Licensure as an APRN/PA.
- Current BLS certification through AHA.
- A minimum of 2 years of pediatric clinical experience (educational experience may be considered).
- Preferred 2 years of experience as an APRN/PA.
