Position Description:

Construction Project Manager I - Saginaw, MI

Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating the daily management of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Reviewing estimates prepared by the estimating team.

• Assisting in the development of project schedules, phasing, and logistics.

• Conducting constructability reviews as necessary.

• Developing bid packages and scopes of work.

• Managing the bidding, awarding, and procurement processes for subcontractors and suppliers.

• Overseeing daily project management, including:

• Establishing initial project budget structures.

• Updating project budgets on a monthly basis.

• Completing and overseeing change requests from owners and subcontractors, ensuring change orders are submitted correctly.

• Auditing project costs and expenditures.

• Managing invoicing for owners, subcontractors, etc.

• Ensuring project profitability.

• Producing monthly MPSR reports and presenting them to leadership.

• Generating monthly executive reports for distribution to owners and leadership.

• Overseeing the RFI and submittal processes.

• Producing and distributing monthly schedule updates.

• Implementing quality control programs.

• Collaborating with the Superintendent to ensure fieldwork is on schedule, safety is maintained, and daily reports are completed.

• Leading OAC meetings, with the Project Manager facilitating these discussions.

• Organizing and chairing regular Project Manager meetings, documenting outcomes through meeting minutes.

• Coordinating work activities with team members.

• Maintaining, updating, and filing project documentation appropriately.

• Managing all construction-related documents.

• Overseeing project closeout and completion documentation.

• Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of owner contracts and project responsibilities.

• Understanding all subcontracts and purchase orders executed for the project.

• Acting as the primary liaison between the Owner, Design Team, and other stakeholders.

• Training, mentoring, and educating Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.

• Continuously analyzing and mitigating project risks.

• Participating in RFQ/RFP responses as necessary.

• Engaging in project interviews as required.

• Assisting in identifying and developing future job opportunities.

• Adhering to company safety policies to foster a safe work environment.

• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Project Manager Level 1 – Capable of managing projects up to $10,000,000 with minimal oversight.

Position Requirements:

Desired Qualifications/Skills:


• High School diploma or GED required.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Experience with VISTA accounting and project management software preferred.

• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.

• Strong work ethic with the ability to follow written or verbal instructions.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
