Job Responsibilities

The Procurement Specialist II is tasked with the acquisition and sourcing of standard goods and services for designated markets and commodities, adhering to the college's regulations and the SC Consolidated Procurement Code. This role operates under the general guidance of the Director of Procurement and Risk Management. The incumbent will engage in routine procurement activities in compliance with the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code and Regulations.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position necessitates a high school diploma along with relevant work experience. A bachelor's degree may be considered in lieu of required experience. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a pertinent field with at least one (1) year of applicable experience; or an associate degree in a related discipline with three (3) years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma with five (5) years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (CPPB) or Institute for Supply Management APP certification is highly desirable. Candidates with experience in procurement related to physical plant/maintenance and/or information technology within either public or private sectors, particularly those familiar with South Carolina public sector procurement laws, will be favored. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, are essential. Excellent customer service capabilities are a must.
