Job Responsibilities

The Procurement Specialist II is tasked with sourcing and acquiring standard goods and services for designated markets and commodities in accordance with the college's policies and the SC Consolidated Procurement Code. This role operates under the general supervision of the Director of Procurement and Risk Management. The position is responsible for making routine purchases of goods and services in compliance with the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code and Regulations.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

This role necessitates a high school diploma and relevant work experience directly related to the field. A bachelor's degree may be considered in lieu of required work experience. The preferred candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline along with one (1) year of related work experience; or an associate degree in a related field with three (3) years of related work experience; or a high school diploma with five (5) years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification from the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (CPPB) or the Institute for Supply Management (APP) is preferred. The ideal candidate will have procurement experience in physical plant/maintenance and/or information technology within either the public or private sector, particularly in South Carolina public sector procurements governed by the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure and collaborate well with others. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with excellent customer service capabilities.
