Leadership Responsibilities
Oversees and guides team members and/or fellow supervisors. Executes leadership duties in accordance with the organization's standards, protocols, and relevant regulations. Responsibilities encompass but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantees that every Guest experiences exceptional service by fostering a welcoming atmosphere, which includes greeting and acknowledging each Guest, upholding high standards, comprehensive product knowledge, and all facets of Guest Service.
  • Empowered to ensure complete guest satisfaction, demonstrating hospitality and professionalism towards our guests consistently, taking pride in representing Hyatt Regency Greenville with dignity, and ensuring that all interactions with guests are conducted legally and ethically.
  • Understands and implements all safety and security protocols to maintain a secure environment for both team members and guests at all times. In case of an incident or emergency, seeks medical assistance if required and promptly informs management.
  • Fosters a positive working relationship with all associates to promote a collaborative work environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensures a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation is upheld before, during, and after each shift.
  • Reviews any modifications on Banquet Event Orders (BEO), including guarantees, timings, and setup requirements, consulting with the banquet manager and event planning manager for any last-minute adjustments. Inspects function rooms for cleanliness, checks for burnt light bulbs, appropriate signage, and ensures the area is damage-free.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with the Banquet Chef to ensure seamless coordination between food preparation and service. Coordinates pick-up times and provides accurate guest counts after seating, advising on last-minute timing and special menu requests.
  • Conducts daily briefings, sharing essential information with servers, along with pre-meal discussions and uniform checks. Reviews end-of-shift responsibilities.
  • Inspects table settings, including linens, silverware, china, glassware, and condiments for proper arrangement by servers, ensuring cleanliness and attractiveness.
  • Responsible for the appropriate setup of buffet and food service tables for catering events.
  • Ensures all events commence punctually and as planned. All rooms should be prepared 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time and ready to welcome guests. Supervises all servers on the floor and monitors service throughout each assigned function. Staff should be prepared and attentive 15 minutes before the start time.
  • Oversees the clearing and post-event cleanup. Checks out servers, ensuring function rooms, back hallways, and storage areas are tidy and that equipment is cleaned and stored correctly. Prepares for any breakfast functions for the following day.
  • Prepares banquet checks, verifying accuracy and making necessary adjustments, obtaining host signatures. Completes a detailed review for each assigned function and distributes required documentation at the end of the shift.
  • Reviews the next day's BEOs, confirming staffing and any changes. Completes equipment and food requisitions as necessary.

  • Adheres to Company Standards of Service as outlined for Hyatt Regency Greenville.
  • Projects a positive image of Hyatt Regency Greenville to the public consistently.
  • Performs all tasks and responsibilities efficiently and in a timely manner, in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this role.
  • Treats guests, vendors, customers, and colleagues with professionalism and respect at all times.
  • Completes departmental and brand standards training as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean and professional appearance at all times.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Complies with all local, state, and corporate regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with all laws.

Experience/Education
A high school diploma or general education degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Certificates & Licenses
A valid State Driver's License is required for anyone driving a Company vehicle or required to drive as part of their job; others as mandated by Brand Standard and/or State Law.

Computer Skills
As required by Brand Standard and Company policies.

Language Ability
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and/or associates. Ability to write clearly and legibly.

Math Ability
Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve basic problems and recognize when it is necessary to seek managerial assistance in problem-solving.
