The Hire Solution is collaborating with a well-established and expanding construction firm for the role of Property Accountant or Senior Property Accountant.

This position is crucial, reporting directly to the CFO, where the accountant will manage all aspects of daily and monthly financial operations for approximately 15 properties across the country utilizing Yardi ERP.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial statement evaluations, including balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger management.
  • Ensure timely and precise reporting of the financial activities of assigned properties, which encompasses financial reporting, escrow assessments, and oversight of various external accounting teams.
  • Perform monthly reviews of diverse financial statements in multiple formats, scrutinizing all balance sheet accounts and providing explanations for significant variances in income statement accounts.
  • Review and authorize monthly cash distributions from the properties.
  • Create and oversee templates tailored to each property's unique specifications.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting packages for the assigned properties.
  • Support the Director of Property Accounting with monthly reporting and various projects.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Management team to forecast and budget property performance.
  • Work alongside the Asset Management team to generate necessary reports and address inquiries regarding property accounts.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable at the property level within the internal accounting system.
  • Examine tax returns for accuracy concerning information derived from property financial statements.
  • Assist with fund-level accounting responsibilities through monthly tasks and on an ad hoc basis, including cash flows, departmental reporting, debt compliance, and year-end tax/audit duties.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as organizing files in Virtus format within designated folders and confirming monthly deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting.
  • Experience with Yardi Enterprise or Voyager is highly preferred.
  • Willingness to work on-site at the headquarters.
  • Strong professional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with all operating partners.
  • Assertive and cooperative mindset.
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.
