Position Overview:
The Senior Real Estate Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting, asset management, and operational teams. This position involves data entry, financial analysis, reconciliations, and comprehensive reporting of all financial activities. The role also encompasses acquisition and disposition accounting for our properties, along with internal and external financial reporting for our funds. Our Senior Accountants are expected to mentor junior staff and engage directly with regional and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze financial data for a portfolio of 10-12 properties to ensure precision and compliance.
  • Assist in the monthly reconciliation processes for all closing activities.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for management, investors, and financial institutions.
  • Provide accounting-related support to operational teams regarding property matters.
  • Engage in various special projects aimed at enhancing process efficiencies, developing training materials, and generating value-added reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 5-7 years of relevant experience; CPA or prior public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and proficiency in financial reporting.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in training and mentoring staff.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy while managing tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in advanced computerized accounting systems, particularly Excel; familiarity with Resman and Yardi is advantageous.
  • Integrity and a strong attention to detail are essential.
  • A desire to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment.
