Key Responsibilities:
  • Property Financial Oversight: Supervise daily accounting functions for designated properties, including rent collections, accounts payable/receivable, and maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Compile and assess monthly financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and variance analyses for the assigned properties.
  • Yardi Software Management: Employ Yardi Property Management software to oversee financial transactions, generate reports, and guarantee accurate data entry. Address and resolve any issues related to Yardi software.
  • Budgeting and Financial Forecasting: Assist in the development and tracking of property budgets and forecasts, providing financial analysis to support budgetary decisions.
  • Reconciliation Tasks: Conduct monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and rectify discrepancies.
  • Audit Assistance: Prepare necessary documentation and support both internal and external audit processes, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy in property accounting practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with property managers, leasing agents, and other departments to gather essential information and resolve financial concerns.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior accountants and accounting personnel, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of property accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity. Proficiency in Yardi Property Management software is essential.
  • Skills: Expertise in Yardi software and Microsoft Excel, strong knowledge of GAAP and property management accounting principles, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulousness in work.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
