POSITION SUMMARY

The BIM/VDC Coordinator is a pivotal member of our construction team, possessing robust skills in BIM/VDC coordination. This role involves close collaboration with the project management team and significant engagement in all modeling activities for both 2D and 3D coordination, as well as the preparation of shop drawings. We are looking for an individual who excels in multitasking and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Review and create 2D and 3D electrical schematics for field applications and ensure coordination with other subcontractor trades.
· Attend coordination meetings to address conflicts while adhering to budget constraints, constructability, and NEC code requirements.
· Generate shop drawings, cross-sections of underground conduits and cables, and other electrical systems as necessary for the fabrication and installation teams.
· Prepare documentation to seek clarification on original designs through RFIs and follow up on responses.
· Interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans, sections, and elevations.
· Collaborate with the engineer of record and project management personnel to resolve issues and communicate drawings to production or construction teams, making adjustments as needed.
· Travel to various project sites as required.
· Perform additional duties as necessary.
· Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
The ideal BIM/VDC Coordinator will either be a Journeyman Electrician or possess relevant experience as an Assistant BIM/VDC Detailer, BIM/VDC Detailer, or have a background in engineering, technical design, or construction management.

For Journeyman Electricians:
· High School diploma or equivalent is required.
· Proof of Journeyman's license is mandatory.
· At least 2 years of drafting experience is required, with 3 years preferred.
· Comprehensive understanding of construction blueprints, specifications, and Requests for Information across various disciplines (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and special systems).
· Proficiency in 3D coordination with other trades.
· Basic computer skills (e.g., folder structure, emails & attachments, keyboard shortcuts) are essential.
· Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is necessary.
· Familiarity with BIM 360 Glue, BIM Collaborate, or similar model viewing/collaboration software is preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.

For candidates with experience as BIM/VDC Assistant Coordinator, Assistant BIM/VDC Detailer, or related roles:
· High School diploma or equivalent is required.
· Minimum of 2 years' experience as a BIM/VDC Assistant Coordinator or 5 years' experience as an Assistant BIM/VDC Detailer or in a related engineering, technical design, or construction management role utilizing Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
· Experience with AutoCAD, BIM 360 Glue, BIM Collaborate, or other model viewing/collaboration software is preferred.
· Strong understanding of construction blueprints, specifications, and Requests for Information across various disciplines.
· Knowledge of 3D coordination with other trades is essential.
· Basic computer skills (e.g., folder structure, emails & attachments, keyboard shortcuts) are necessary.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees must meet the physical demands of this position to perform essential functions successfully. Regularly required to sit for extended periods, frequently stand and walk, and use hands for various tasks. Specific vision abilities include viewing computer monitors. Some duties may involve working in challenging conditions typical of construction sites.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees may work in an office, construction trailer, or on construction job sites during operational hours. Duties may be performed under varying conditions typical of construction environments, including outdoor work in inclement weather. This role may require travel between multiple job sites.
