SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support our organizational objectives by overseeing and directing assigned electrical construction projects in various locations, ensuring timely completion within budgetary constraints and defined resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and execute project contract terms.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Estimators to ensure a comprehensive scope of work.
  • Oversee project budgets and labor expenditures.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules with key milestone deadlines.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and spreadsheets.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project superintendents through site visits.
  • Manage communications with general contractors or construction managers for assigned projects.
  • Propose methods and improvements based on project requirements and resource capabilities.
  • Review and assess project change orders.
  • Estimate and price change orders as necessary.
  • Analyze plans and construction documents to identify project requirements and value engineering opportunities.
  • Prepare billing documents and coordinate with accounting staff.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns as needed.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for job site personnel.
  • Attend and lead meetings as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
  • Travel to various project sites as needed.
  • Work with Project Managers to define a complete scope of work.
  • Enhance skills in reviewing drawings and specifications to assist with project schedules and change orders.
  • Monitor project budgets and labor costs, alerting the Project Manager to any issues.
  • Prepare and maintain logs and reports.
  • Foster communication and collaboration with the construction team and general contractors.
  • Assist with material procurement and releases.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Initially, there will be no supervisory responsibilities. However, as the candidate's experience and proficiency develop, opportunities to supervise special projects may arise.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are preferred:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with 5 years of progressive experience in high-rise and/or commercial electrical construction; or
  • Successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship program plus 5 years of progressive experience in high-rise and/or commercial electrical construction.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Office Products (Word, Excel, Projects, Notes & Teams).
  • Familiarity with Accubid estimating software.
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint or similar accounting systems.
  • Experience with ACC Build / Procore / Plan Grid or related Document Management software.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Willingness to transition to a Project Manager role as opportunities arise.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with Project Managers, employees at various levels, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional lifting/moving of up to twenty-five (25) pounds may be required. Regular commuting to field locations is necessary.

While performing job duties, the employee will frequently communicate verbally and in writing, both one-on-one and in group settings.
