About Our Division

The Revenue Estimation Division is essential in fulfilling the constitutional responsibilities related to budget and revenue forecasting. This division is the primary source for economic data and projections, responsible for producing critical revenue estimates that inform state budgeting processes.

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 40 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend commitments as necessary.

Position Summary

Join our team as a Revenue Analyst. This role involves conducting complex research and analysis to assess and predict state revenue streams. Responsibilities include maintaining databases related to research and analysis, ensuring compliance with constitutional and statutory requirements, and effectively communicating findings both in writing and verbally. Supervision of junior staff may be required. This position operates under limited supervision, allowing for initiative and independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in research and planning is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • A graduate degree in one of the aforementioned disciplines.
  • Five years of experience in research and planning.
  • Experience in evaluating and forecasting state revenue sources.
  • Experience in analyzing court costs, fees, fines, and related revenues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as an analyst for court costs and criminal justice issues.
  • Prepare data, narratives, and articles for various publications; respond to inquiries from other personnel and external agencies.
  • Conduct statistical, economic, and fiscal analyses, providing support to division staff.
  • Assist the Chief Revenue Analyst with special projects related to revenue estimates.
  • Engage in professional development through training courses and conferences.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Required:
  • Understanding of state budgeting laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with statutes and administrative rules regarding state revenue sources.
  • Knowledge of the legislative process.
  • Insight into public finance issues and tax analysis.
  • Research methodologies and principles.
  • Quantitative economics, econometrics, and statistical analysis.
  • Database management and manipulation.
  • Computer programming skills.

Abilities Required:
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
  • Adhere to agency policies regarding confidentiality and information security.
