ROLE SUMMARY:
The Credit Risk Analyst I plays a crucial role in the development of analytics and reporting aimed at identifying and assessing risks associated with Consumer Credit, including Direct, Indirect, Credit Card, and Mortgage products.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring credit quality trends within consumer portfolios and contributing to the creation of Risk Assessments, Targeted Examinations, and Special Assessments.

You will stay informed about industry trends and regulatory standards, ensuring compliance with guidelines.

It is essential to maintain accountability for risk by engaging in open dialogue, raising concerns, and adhering to established policies and procedures.

Your commitment to ethical practices will foster a positive experience for both customers and colleagues, while you strive to achieve results by effectively identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting various types of risks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct thorough root cause analyses to uncover opportunities for predicting, preventing, and mitigating risks across consumer lines of business.

2. Develop, validate, and implement models for loss forecasting, portfolio stress testing, and account management analysis.

You will also perform ad-hoc analyses of consumer portfolios as needed, reporting on characteristics in relation to policies and guidelines.
3. Execute daily, monthly, and quarterly production processes meticulously, adhering to established controls and deadlines. Generate reports to analyze financial performance by risk and behavioral segments.
4. Design and interpret complex business and statistical analyses to support management decisions regarding portfolio risk management and marketing program evaluations. Optimize risk/reward trade-offs to support new risk initiatives and portfolio analytics, considering relationships among key business drivers.
5. Foster collaborative relationships with Credit functions across various Consumer Lending groups while maintaining objectivity. Monitor problem loan statistics and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
6. Identify and propose enhancements to policies and operational processes that will improve credit quality. Evaluate new data sources and analytical tools to develop innovative risk management capabilities.

7. Prepare and deliver presentations on recommendations and strategic outcomes to business partners and management.


QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master's degree in a relevant field (Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, etc.) is required, with a PhD preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in reporting systems, database management, and statistical modeling is essential.
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work on multiple projects within expected timelines and collaboratively within a team.
Experience with BASE/SAS, STAT/SAS, MACRO/SAS, Graph/SAS, Mainframe SAS, and SAS Enterprise Guide is required, as well as proficiency in accessing and querying databases across various platforms such as Oracle, DB2, MS-SQL Server, Teradata, and MS Access. You should also be adept at translating SQL queries among different database platforms and maintaining data sets through SQL programming.

Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize various applications and business intelligence/database tools is crucial.
