ROLE SUMMARY:
The Credit Risk Analyst I is tasked with the development of analytical frameworks and reporting mechanisms to identify and assess risks associated with Consumer Credit, including Direct, Indirect, Credit Card, and Mortgage sectors.

Key responsibilities include monitoring credit quality trends across consumer portfolios and contributing to the creation of comprehensive Risk Assessments, Targeted Examinations, and Special Assessments.

Staying informed about industry developments and regulatory standards is essential (e.g., FFIEC, FRB).

Accountability for risk management involves open communication of ideas and concerns, as well as adherence to established policies and procedures.

Commitment to ethical practices ensures that actions foster a positive experience for both customers and colleagues, while consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting various types of risks within the Bank's risk appetite.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct thorough root cause analyses to uncover opportunities for predicting, preventing, and mitigating risks within processes and performance across consumer lines of business.

2. Develop, validate, and implement a variety of models for loss forecasting, portfolio stress testing, and account management analysis.

Perform ad-hoc analyses of consumer portfolios as needed. Report and analyze characteristics of Consumer Credit lines of business in relation to existing policies and guidelines.
Execute daily, monthly, and quarterly production processes meticulously within established controls and deadlines. Generate reports to evaluate financial performance segmented by risk and behavior. Create and document detailed application specifications suitable for coding.

3. Design, develop, and interpret complex business and statistical analyses to inform management decision-making regarding portfolio risk management and marketing program evaluations.

Optimize risk/reward dynamics to support new risk initiatives and portfolio risk analytics, considering the interplay among key business drivers.
Establish strong collaborative relationships with Credit functions across various Consumer Lending groups while maintaining independence and objectivity. Monitor and assess problem loan statistics, ensuring compliance with Bancorp policy and relevant accounting/regulatory guidance.
Identify and communicate potential enhancements to policies or operations that could improve credit quality. Evaluate new consumer risk-related data sources and analytical tools, developing innovative risk management capabilities and processes.

4. Prepare and deliver presentations on recommendations and strategic outcomes to business partners and management.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in a relevant field (Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, etc.) is required; a PhD is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in reporting systems, database management, and statistical modeling.
Exceptional analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
Proven ability to understand various applications and business intelligence/database tools.
Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects within expected timelines and work cohesively within a team.
At least 5 years of experience with BASE/SAS, STAT/SAS, MACRO/SAS, Graph/SAS, Mainframe SAS, and SAS Enterprise Guide.

A minimum of 5 years' experience accessing and querying diverse databases across platforms such as Oracle, DB2, MS-SQL Server, Teradata, and MS Access, with the ability to translate SQL queries among different database platforms and maintain appropriate data sets through SQL programming.

Proven ability to learn and understand various applications and business intelligence/database tools.
