As a Senior Underwriter within PNC's Vendor Finance division, you will be responsible for a range of tasks that require both office and field presence on a regular basis.

Some responsibilities may be executed remotely, depending on managerial discretion. *Subject to business needs, this position may be available in various locations or potentially in a remote capacity.**Experience in municipal credit analysis and underwriting is preferred.

Job Responsibilities
Work autonomously with minimal oversight.

Exercise elevated approval authority and exceptions.

Prepare proposals for transactions of varying complexity or manage an assigned portfolio.

Engage with both internal and external clients. Provide recommendations for credit structuring and serve as a subject matter expert for specific asset classes. Act as a mentor, work lead, and trainer for the team.

Utilize independent judgment to identify risks and mitigants, preparing proposals and/or scorecards, such as risk ratings, by analyzing credit, collateral strength, and financial viability of loan/transaction parties.

If applicable, conduct ongoing credit risk management for the assigned portfolio. Mentor and/or review the work of other underwriters and fill in for management as necessary.
Contact internal/external clients and other stakeholders as needed to gather information and clarify any inconsistencies or missing data. May perform relevant pre-approval and post-approval tasks.
Identify and confirm all external regulatory requirements. Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Make recommendations on credit decisions or directly make credit decisions as appropriate.

Qualifications
Successful candidates must demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role. Below are the skills, competencies, work experience, education, and required certifications/licensures needed for success in this position.

Competencies:

Work Experience: Roles at this level typically require a university/college degree, with over 5 years of relevant industry experience. Specific certifications may be required.

In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Education: Bachelor's Degree.
