As the Inventory Control Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the seamless flow of materials within KHS operations, focusing on shipping, receiving, inventory management, and logistics. This position also encompasses the responsibility for continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations related to shipping and receiving, ensuring processes for parts receipt, shop order fulfillment, and customer order accuracy are effectively managed.
  • Administer the annual physical inventory count, ensuring reconciliation of discrepancies and implementing improvements for accuracy.
  • Lead the inventory supervisor to foster productivity, teamwork, and organization within the warehouse; identify and develop enhancements for process flow, considering factors such as turnover and storage requirements.
  • Ensure the proper care and preservation of items throughout the receiving, storage, and shipping processes; utilize appropriate methods and equipment for handling materials.
  • Coordinate the distribution of parts to assembly departments in alignment with production schedules, ensuring timely retrieval and staging of inventory for efficient assembly.
  • Collaborate closely with product lines to ensure prompt distribution of parts for assembly and manage the return of unused parts to inventory.
  • Work alongside the Supply Chain Director to analyze system data regarding non-usable, slow-moving, and excess inventory.
  • Partner with the Supply Chain Director, Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory teams to enhance parts availability, inventory integrity, and accuracy, particularly in automatic replenishment processes.
  • Provide overall direction to address customer needs outside of regular hours.
  • Establish work procedures, prepare schedules, and expedite workflows in collaboration with the Supply Chain Director and other teams.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operations in conjunction with the Supply Chain Director and Business Intelligence, focusing on waste reduction, cost efficiency, and profitability enhancement.
  • Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators related to Inventory Control and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote the sharing of best practices across the organization.
  • Supervise the inventory control team and directly manage Inventory Control Supervisors overseeing Storekeepers and Leads.
  • Oversee personnel within the Continuous Improvement Function.
  • Conduct interviews, hiring, and training of new employees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience in inventory or warehouse management within a manufacturing context; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with materials planning and enterprise resource planning systems, with a preference for SAP P82 S/4 HANA.
  • APICS certification is preferred; if not certified, candidates should be willing to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.
