As the Inventory Control Manager, your primary role will be to facilitate the efficient flow of materials within KHS operations, focusing on shipping, receiving, inventory management, and logistics. This position also encompasses the responsibility for ongoing enhancement initiatives aimed at optimizing operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations related to shipping and receiving; develop, update, and monitor processes to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
  • Administer the annual physical inventory count, addressing discrepancies and implementing improvements to maintain accuracy.
  • Manage the inventory supervisory team to enhance productivity, teamwork, and organization within the warehouse; propose enhancements to process flows, considering factors such as turnover and storage requirements.
  • Ensure the proper care and preservation of items throughout the receiving, storage, and shipping processes; utilize appropriate methods and equipment for handling materials.
  • Coordinate the distribution of parts to assembly departments in alignment with production schedules, ensuring efficient staging, inspection, packing, and shipping to customers.
  • Collaborate closely with product lines to ensure timely delivery of parts for assembly, and work with the Production Department to manage the return of unused parts to inventory.
  • Partner with the Supply Chain Director to analyze system data regarding non-usable, slow-moving, and excess inventory.
  • Work alongside the Supply Chain Director, Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory teams to enhance parts availability, inventory accuracy, and automatic replenishment processes.
  • Provide direction to expedite customer needs during after-hours operations.
  • Establish work procedures, prepare schedules, and streamline workflows in collaboration with the Supply Chain Director and relevant teams.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operations, reduce waste, and enhance profitability by coordinating with various departments and forming project teams as necessary.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators related to Inventory Control and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Share best practices across the organization to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Supervise the inventory control team and directly oversee Inventory Control Supervisors and their teams.
  • Manage personnel within the Continuous Improvement Function.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and train new employees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience in inventory or warehouse management within a manufacturing setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with materials planning and enterprise resource planning systems, preferably SAP P82 S/4 HANA.
  • APICS certification is preferred; if not certified, must obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
