Strategic Innovation Group, LLC is on the lookout for skilled and driven Senior Enterprise Solutions Architects to enhance our team. The selected candidates will oversee the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) tasks of a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform, which encompasses the following responsibilities:


  • System/Application Upgrades: This includes operating system upgrades, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product enhancements, firmware updates, hardware refreshes, software lifecycle management, security enhancements, and firewall improvements.
  • System Maintenance: Responsibilities include ensuring 24/7 system functionality, applying operating system and application patches, troubleshooting bugs, maintaining high availability, conducting quarterly data center switchovers, performing periodic Disaster Recovery (DR) tests, and planning for Continuity of Operations (COOP).
  • System/Application Enhancements: This involves implementing functional upgrades, integrating systems, adding new modules, deploying new applications, and enhancing existing applications based on user feedback.
  • Data Management Support: Tasks include managing data creation, utilization, processing, reporting, and analysis. This covers data cleansing, metadata creation, data integration, data warehousing, ETL processes, business intelligence (BI), data migration, and enrichment.

Experience in government contracting is preferred. The role will report directly to the VP of Technology Partnerships.

Compensation: $75,000 to $150,000+

This position is primarily remote, with occasional client visits as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing application architecture and service-oriented principles to assist client teams in developing high availability application requirements across various functional domains;
  • Coordinating efforts to ensure alignment with the client's Enterprise Architecture Framework, IT strategy, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), strategic objectives, and standards;
  • Creating as-is and to-be application architecture documentation, including system connectivity diagrams, application reference models, software requirements specifications, interface descriptions, data dictionaries, performance monitoring guidelines, high availability designs, DR strategies, and application staging plans;
  • Collaborating with data and infrastructure architects and software program managers to ensure the integrity, high availability, and scalability of application systems within the overall Enterprise Architecture context;
  • Leading the work of business systems analysts and documentation specialists.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Communications, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience;
  • Proven experience in solution architecture with a strong understanding of architecture patterns and design, focusing on performance optimization, logging, monitoring, microservices, cloud solutions, and high availability/scalability;
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Visio or similar software for documenting application architecture;
  • Experience with MS Excel for software requirements documentation;
  • Familiarity with MS Word and MS PowerPoint;
  • Experience in coordinating software requirements and collaborating with development teams;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement custom COTS and middleware applications and process enhancements;
  • Experience managing teams for the deployment of large-scale web and mobile applications;
  • Experience in performing application architecture functions from conception to deployment for large government multi-agency solutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related fields AND 5+ years of relevant experience;
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing high availability and scaling solutions within a complex, multi-application architecture, including cloud environments.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SECURITY CLEARANCE
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance;
  • Vaccination requirements and testing are subject to federal contractor mandates and customer site requirements; testing costs are the responsibility of the employee.
